Anna and John live in Canada but chose Crete, the biggest island in Greece, for their wedding.Crete provided guests easy access with its two ports and two international airports. They had 50 guests, who all stayed in a luxury hotel, enjoying a 15% discount for their group booking.
We had arranged for a coach car to carry guests to the pre-wedding dinner, the next-day trip to Elafonissi and its prize-winner beach with the pink sand and of course, to the wedding ceremony and reception. None of them had to drive and they were all the time together.
The orthodox ceremony took place at a chapel next to the sea, close to the reception venue, a luxury beach bar restaurant next to the sea. The venue was decorated with white flowers, handmade plaques, pomegranates and golden details. Pomegranates in Greece symbolise good fortune.
Anna wore a fabulous lace wedding dress, while the bridal party was dressed in sand colours.
The wedding dinner included a buffet with exquisite selections of Greek dishes with meat, fish and vegan selections, a large buffet of sweets and an open bar.
The reception venue was a club licensed to play loud music till early morning hours, so the party ended when the sun was up. Anna and John came prepared, having bought snickers with strass for the bride. Surely, they would find it hard to get up on time for the trip to Elafonissi!
