Valerie & George

Valerie and George are a lovely couple from Australia. They chose Crete for their wedding as their grandparents were born in Greece. The orthodox ceremony was held in Gavalohori, a picturesque village of Chania. The bride was escorted to the church by Cretan musicians as is the custom in Crete. Valerie moved us deeply when she wore her grandmother’s wedding dress, while her own mother, once a bouquet-maker, had prepared her bouquet.

The wedding reception took place at a luxurious villa overlooking the mountains and the sea. The venue was romantically decorated with many baskets with wild flowers. The wishing well table, made of 2 wine barrels and decorated with a vintage 5-candle holder, one vintage chair, many candles, laces, vases with flowers and a handmade book for wishes,was amazing.

The centerpieces were full of flowers with a lantern in the centre and many candles around.

Lighting in the villa was Mama mia-style, with countless fairy lights and rice ball lights to give the villa a romantic and elegant style. The sky lit up with fireworks and sky lanterns when the couple cut its 3-tier wedding cake, while the guests raised their glasses of champagne to wish the couple well.

The buffet-style dinner included delicious traditional Greek dishes, a huge buffets of delicacies and an open bar with many cocktails.

There were three photographers for the ceremony and the reception, to make sure that they would capture all unique moments. As the couple wanted many pictures of their wedding on Crete, we had arranged a pre-wedding photoshoot and a next-day photoshoot at the old town of Chania and the Venetian port.

Valerie and George’s wedding was attended by at least 150 guests and their party lasted till the morning, a party that their friends will remember for many years to come!
